BANGOR – Edward “Eddie” N. MacDonald Sr., 73, died Sept. 9, 2005, at his residence in Bangor. He was born March 25, 1932, in Bangor, the son of Augustus “Gus” and Madeline (Crocker) MacDonald. Eddie graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War in the Infantry as a Unit Leader. Eddie was very proud of his service record and was Prisoner of War and was part of the prisoner of war swap during the Korean War. He was a long time member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where he was an Altar Boy and enjoyed being part of the church. Eddie enjoyed taking his children fishing and he had a great love for driving and taking people to places they had to be. He is survived by seven children, Brian MacDonald and wife, Phyllis, of Winterport, Ricky MacDonald of Brewer, Brett MacDonald of Searsport, Edward “Skip” MacDonald and fianc?e, Shirley Lowery, of Dedham, Michael MacDonald of Brewer, Denise Willis of Bangor, Dawn MacDonald and fianc?, Michael Fournier, of Old Town; a brother, Fred MacDonald and his wife, Joyce, of Bangor; a sister, Catherine Ericson and her late husband, Bob, of Brewer; grandchildren, Norman, Autumn, Brian, and Keenan; and many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Judy MacDonald; and his many friends at Freese’s Assisted Living. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, James; and sisters, Annie Robshaw and Melba Fletcher. Services will be private for the family. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Johns Episcopal Church, 234 French Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
