ALTON and WINTERPORT Edward Ernest Kenney, 67, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, of a brief illness at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 24, 1939, in Monroe, the son of David and Beuliah Brown Kenney. He was an army veteran. Ed drove trucks most of his life. He enjoyed going to the dry-dock and at Bob Brassbride’s place, talking and joking as only Ed could do. He gave Mickey Bedard Harmor, whom he thought of as his own daughter, away at her wedding to Chris in 1998. Ed was a kind and giving soul to everyone. He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Patti Garnett and her fiance, Bruce, whom he shared their home with, Linda Green of Massachusetts, Barbara Moody and her husband, Junior, of Penobscot, Joannie Leonard and her husband, Eddy, of Hermon, Maxine Bass and her husband, Francis, and Madeline Lowe and her husband, Kermit, of Winterport; one brother, Cliff of Alton; grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Eddy; and his brothers, Alfred Kenney and Earl Murphy. There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Oct. 15, at Pilgrim Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed’s memory to a charity of your choice.
