COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ed Hosmer, 58, died at home July 15, 2005, after a grueling year-long battle with cancer. Ed was born July 31, 1946, in Bangor. He and Karen were married Dec. 7, 1967, at Fort Carson, Colo. He retired in 2003 after a 31-year career with Frito-Lay. He was predeceased by his parents, Julia (Mogan) and Gordon Hosmer and his brother, Michael “Mickey.” He is survived by his wife, Karen (Cooper); his son, Kevin; daughter, Traci; and his beloved grandson, John Patrick “J.P.” Hosmer Kingsley of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his six sisters, Loretta Bailey, Joan Brown, Sharon (Bobby) Hazelton, Denise (Tommy) McGrath, Marcia (Joey) Larkin of Bangor, and Suzanne (Scott) McCutcheon of South Portland. In addition, he leaves dozens of loving nieces and nephews in Colorado Springs, Maine, Illinois, and Indiana.
