HOULTON – Edward H. Toner, 80, died April 20, 2007, at his home. He was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Houlton, the son of Edward Sr. and Anna (Cassidy) Toner. Ed was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation Church and a 3rd degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and was a graduate of Hodgdon High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member the American Legion and the VFW. Ed was employed by New England T&T for three years, U.S. Customs for 12 years and the Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services for 29 years. He was past president for 10 years of the Fish and Game Club and a member of the National Rifle Association and SAMS. He served as secretary for the Snow Rovers and the Maine Snowmobile Association. Ed is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth (Barrow) Toner of Houlton; three sons, Larry Toner of Farmingdale, Jerry Toner of Bangor and Timothy Toner and his wife, Maria, of Houlton; three daughters, Bonnie Quint and her husband, R. Dennis, of Monticello, Judy Reid and her husband, Gordon, of Houlton and Jacqueline Maynard and her husband, John, of Mansfield, Mass.; 17 grandchildren, Adrianna, Den-nis, Rachael, Pebbles, Misty, Angel, Christina, Adam, Andrew, Jesse, Jordan, Amanda, Desiree, Samantha, Thomas, Allison and Emily; five great-grandchildren, Nathan, Craig, Makayla, Bailey and Britney; one brother, Norval “Jack” Toner of Hampden; two sisters, Iris Gould and her husband, Arnold, of Suffield, Conn., and Orient, and Bernadette “Bunny” Neal of Vernon, Conn.; a sister-in-law, Leanne Toner of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and younger brother, Darrell Toner. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home with a Rosary 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Visitation Church with the Rev. Eddy Morin, celebrant. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
