EAST MILLINOCKET – Edward Joseph Deveau Sr., 58, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003. He was born Nov. 6, 1945, in East Millinocket, the son of Irvin and Vivian (York) Deveau. Eddie was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 22 of Medway, and also very active with the American Legion Post No. 13 of East Millinocket. His greatest passion was honoring his fellow MIA-POW’s by bringing the float to parades and gatherings throughout the state honoring our soldiers and sailors who have lost their lives during the time of war. Eddie was also employed by Great Northern Paper Co. for a number of years. Eddie leaves behind his loving and faithful wife, Wendy Jean Barr of East Millinocket. He is also survived by three sons, Edward and his wife, Nancy Deveau, Robert and his wife, Tonya Deveau, and Jeremy and his wife, Sonya Deveau; four grandchildren, Edward Joshua, Madison, Darin, and Caleb; one brother, Colby Deveau; three sisters, Vicky and her husband, Dana Adams, Diane Lyons, and Marlene and her husband, Gary Rudge; a special cousin, Brenda Michaud; many favorite aunts and uncles; his two favorite pets, Prince and Nikkia. He also leaves behind the mother of his children, Joan Deveau. Visiting hours will be held from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at the First Congregational Church, 11 Maple St., East Millinocket. A celebration of life service will begin at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Pilletere officiating. A graveside committal will be held at a later date.
