EAST MILLINOCKET – Edward R. “Ted” Carrell Jr., 52, passed away peacefully Oct. 11, 2006, at his home in East Millinocket, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. He was born Dec. 13, 1953, in Utica, N.Y., the son of Edward R. and Florence M. (Cook) Carrell. Ted graduated from Cony High School, Augusta and was a graduate of the University of Maine – Orono, Class of 1977, with a Bachelor of Science in music education. He worked for Medway Middle School for 29 years as a music teacher, conducted Medway Middle School bands, and recently was conductor of the Schenck High School Concert Band. He also taught several classes in fine arts, photography and algebra. Ted worked for the East Millinocket Ambulance Service as an EMT – I, where he taught CPR classes and served as an EMT instructor. He enjoyed 35mm and large format photography, and was able to have some of his photography published. Ted was a member of the Augusta Baptist Church for 35 years, and recently became a member of Faith Baptist Church, Millinocket, with his wife. In addition to his parents of North Belgrade, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cheryl A. (Wibberly) Carrell; a son, Andrew D. Carrell; a daughter, Rebecca E. Carrell, all of East Millinocket; two brothers, Jon L. Carrell of Augusta and Robert B. Carrell and his wife, Linda, of Vassalboro; a “special aunt,” Barbara Cook of North Belgrade; many aunts, uncles, cousins, students, friends and acquaintances. He will also be sadly missed by his special friend, “Jagger,” the family cat. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bouchard – Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Schenck High School Gymnasium, North Street, East Millinocket, with Pastors Ian Shearer and Bruce Felt officiating. Interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery, East Millinocket.
