HERMON AND HAMPDEN Edwin “Eddie” H. Meeks Jr., 45, died Nov. 18, 2007, at his Hampden home. He was born May 25, 1962, in Bangor, the son of Edwin and Rita (Jenkins) Meeks. Eddie enjoyed fishing, camping, Harley’s, playing sports with his kids and spending time with his grandsons. He also enjoyed watching the Braves with his son. He is survived by the mother of his children, Lois Meeks of Bangor; one son, Eddie Meeks III of Bangor; two daughters, Katti-Jo Meeks and her fiance, Brenton Parritt, of Steuben and Brittany Meeks and Timothy O’Neill Jr. of Bangor; one brother, Mike Tripp of Bangor; three sisters, Linda and Keith Caler of Bangor, Billie Jo and Jim Cole of Corinth, and Mary and Rich Gebert of Carmel; grandsons, Bryson and Keegan; an expected granddaughter; several special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; special nephews, Jerry, Gerald and Darren; special friends, Chris and Eric Trainer, Dave Dumphey, Garrett Hurd and numerous other friends, who he loved very much; and his special dog, Gabby. Eddie was loved for his passion of laughter and will be greatly missed and loved. He was predeceased by his mother, Rita (Jenkins) Meeks. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor of Bangor Advent Christian Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Sea Dog, Front Street, Bangor, immediately after the service.
