CARY – Edwin G. Cleary, 73, died on Sept. 10, 2004, at Bangor. He was born on Oct. 29, 1930, in Houlton, the son of Shirley and Eunice (Miller) Cleary. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War with seven years of service, he was a member of the Houlton Lions Club and the Hodgdon United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen (Fredericks) Cleary; one son, John and his wife, Peggy Cleary; two cherished grandchildren, Jamie and Ryan, all of Cary; four brothers, Donald Cleary of Hodgdon, James Cleary of California, Shirley Cleary Jr. of Cary, Emmons Cleary of Houlton; two sisters, Joanne Morris and Jeanette Wakeling, both of Cary; several nieces, nephews, especially Kevin Pray and Kim Miller and their families; cousins and his long time hunting camp buddies. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with funeral services being held 11 a.m. Monday at the Hodgdon United Methodist Church with Pastor Marilyn Rohdin officiating.
