MADAWASKA – Edwin R. Daigle, 74, passed away Jan. 9, 2008, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born March 8, 1934, in Madawaska, the son of Raymond and Laura (Chamberland) Daigle. Edwin was honorably discharged from the army after serving in the Korean War. He worked for Fraser Paper Co., for more than 45 years retiring March 24, 1996. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Renette (Ouellette) Daigle of Madawaska; three daughters, Patsy Violette and her husband, Gary, of Bedford, N.H., Joan Lizotte and her husband, Dave, of Madawaska, and Susan Picard and her husband, Gerry, of Goffstown, N.H.; one son, Daniel Daigle and his wife, Sharon, of Madawaska; six grandchildren, Myles and Rachel Violette, Ann and Troy Ouellette, Tracey and Trokon Khoury, Felicia Ann Picard and Jessica and Macie Daigle; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany and Deshaun; three sisters, Irene Albert, Gladys Dumais and Verna Dobson; two brothers, Norman Daigle and Patrick Daigle; many nieces and nephews. Edwin was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, Herby and Donald Daigle and Rita Pelletier. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Daigle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edwin’s memory may be made to the Edgar J. Paradis fund.
