HOULTON – Effie G. Adams, RN, 96, died April 6, 2006, at a local healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 12, 1910, at Union Corner, NB, Canada, the daughter of Burnham L. and Josephine (Yerxa) Grant. Effie was a graduate nurse from the Aroostook General Hospital of Houlton and was a member of the Aroostook Hospital Alumni Association. She worked on the staff of the City Hospital, Bridgeport, Conn., for a number of years. She is survived by her nieces, Jo Bustard and her husband, Alton, of Woodstock, NB, Jane Findlay and her husband, David, of Point Claire, Quebec, Laverne Stewart of Houlton, Margarite Munroe of Portland; her nephew, Paul Flemming and his wife, Carol of Debec, NB; sister-in-law, Dorothy Flemming of Woodstock, NB; special great-niece, Elaine Miller of Houlton. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice R. Adams; her sister, Charlotte Bauer; her brother, James Flemming; and her nephew, Carl Flemming. Friends may call noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Friday at the Dunn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Spring interment will be in the Linneus Cemetery.
