MILLINOCKET – Effie L. Rogers, 77, wife of the late Percy Hazen Rogers, died April 17, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 16, 1927, in Mt. Chase, the daughter of Irving and Vernilia Ethel (Brown) Glidden. Effie was often called “our monarch.” She is survived by a daughter, Caryn Rogers of Millinocket; a granddaughter, Nicki Winter of Presque Isle; two great-grandsons, Bradley and Caleb Winter; and a beloved niece, Debbie Knapp. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a great-grandson, Preston Rogers. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Millinocket Cemetery, with the Rev. Carolyn Bradley officiating. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
