NEWINGTON, Conn. – Paul Schmanska, 81, of Newington, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 17, 2005. He was born in Putnam, son of the late Joseph and Hazel (Davis) Schmanska. He was a resident of Newington since 1952, coming from Lewiston. He was the husband of the late Annette Louise (Branche) Schmanska, and was a graduate of Bates College with a bachelor of arts in economics. He was formerly employed by the Travelers Insurance Co. as a manager in public relations and publications until his retirement. He is survived by his loving family, one son, David P. Schmanska and his wife, Sonja Anne, of Tenants Harbor; one daughter, Susan Balon and her husband, Michael, of Manchester; one brother, Philip Schmanska, of Hampton, Va.; two grandchildren, Helki Crowder and her husband, Jeffrey and Michael Balon III; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Hartford. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Assoc.
