BANGOR – Effie Mae Mendall, 75, died March 31, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born May 17, 1929, in Benton, the youngest of 13 children the daughter of Maynard R. and Clara Natalie (Brinkworth) Gatcomb. Effie had the most fun playing Bingo and absolutely loved the game. She supported herself and her family as a self employed seamstress all of her life. She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Mitton, and husband, Joe, of Carmel, Cindy Feero, and husband, Edgar, of Winterport; a loving brother, Roland “Pete” Gatcomb, of Carmel; three grandchildren, Joey and Jacob Mitton, and Nathan Feero; stepgrandchildren, Renee and Randy Feero, and two great-stepgrandchildren, Eric and Stephanie. Friends are invited to visit with the family 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A graveside funeral service will be announced in the spring at Highland Cemetery, Carmel.
