PRINCETON – Elaine Alatza Paris, 80, servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at a Calais hospital. Elaine was born Aug. 24, 1924, in Anderson, Ind., daughter of the late Elias and Mildred (Dilts) Alatza. She was a native of Anderson, Ind. and a 30-year resident of Decatur, Ga. Elaine was a devoted mother of four. She encouraged her children to excel in whatever career they chose for themselves. Elaine loved the arts and was in community theatre all of her life. She enjoyed oil painting, photography, gardening, and worked as a floral designer. Elaine was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Chapter in Atlanta, Ga. and Calais. Surviving are her sons, Victor Paris and his wife, Bonnie, of Richmond, Va., Steve Gregory of Atlanta, Ga., and Eric Paris of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Christine White and her husband, Trevor, of Princeton; two brothers, George Alatza of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Paul Alatza of Anderson, Ind.; a sister, Evelyn Wiley of Warsaw, Ind.; five grandchildren, Michelle Petty, Vicki Gentes, Greg Paris, Haleigh White, and Nikolai White; a great-grandson, Andrew Paris; and her nieces and nephews, Mikel Alatza, Marianne Zukoski, Rex Alatza, Jayne Moyers, Carol Alberts, and Linda Helmen. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Burial will be held at a later date in Anderson, Ind.
