ELDON PLOURDE FORT KENT – Eldon Plourde, 65, died peacefully Sept. 22, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 17, 1940, in Fort Kent, the son of Josepha and Edwina (Charette) Plourde. Eldon was a building and grounds maintenance worker for the University of Maine in Fort Kent until his retirement in 2001. Eldon’s pride and joy was collecting crystals and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his favorite pastimes was playing guitar and singing amongst family friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita, of Fort Kent; five children and their spouses, Danford and his wife, Leanne, of Pittson, Lynn Tardif and her husband, Nelson, of St. Agatha, Gina Charette and her husband, Mark, of Fort Kent, Dana and his wife, Kristy, of Rochester, N.H., and Connie Hebert and her husband, Daniel, of Daigle; six brothers, Leonard, Edward, Roger, Maynard, and Jeffrey all of Fort Kent and Danford of Windsor Locks, Conn.; six sisters, Velma Caron of Bangor, Phelda Blier, Gloria Caron, Linda Ouellette, and Tina Thibodeau all of Fort Kent and Millie Plourde of Quebec, Canada; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to both his parents, he was predeceased by two younger brothers. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, and 8 a.m. Monday until time of service at the Daigle and Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. Paul Labree officiating. Committal service will follow in the parish cemetery.
