DEXTER – Eleanor A. Getchell, 84, died June 27, 2005, at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born Feb. 8, 1921, in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of John and Rosella (Northrop) Morton. She was a long time member of Charleston Pentecostal Church. Eleanor volunteered at the Dexter Nursing Home, and at the Dexter Christian Academy for many years. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Charles and Joyce Getchell of Dexter and Walter and Joyce Getchell of Nashville, Georgia; a daughter and her husband, Ann and George Crossman of Milo; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Leo S. Getchell. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronald Libby and the Rev. Matthew Ward officiating.
