CHERRYFIELD – Eleanor “Bet” T. Schoppee, 95, went to be with her loving husband, Ted, Dec. 22, 2005. She was born Oct. 8, 1910, in Cherryfield, the daughter of the late Ezra and Lottie (Dorr) Tracy. Eleanor worked for a short time as a teacher and then worked several years as a nanny. She married the love of her life, Ted Schoppee, in September 1934. Eleanor was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cherryfield and the Cherryfield Historical Society. Eleanor and Ted are survived by a very special friend of many years, Libby Joyce, of Harrington. A special thank you to Billy Leighton of Unionville, Allegra Willey of Cherryfield and Rona Bayrd of Milbridge, for their special care over the last years. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Edson “Ted” Schoppee, on Oct. 23, 2005. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26, at the Small Cemetery in Cherryfield. Memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor’s memory to the Cherryfield Historical Society, P.O. Box 96, Cherryfield, ME 04622 or to the Cherryfield First Baptist Church, Cherryfield, ME 04622. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
