AUBURN – Elise Morrison, 90, of Schooner Estates, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Russell Park Rehab and Living Center, Lewiston. She was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Bowdoinham, daughter of Erle L. and Hazel G. Cornish Browne. Elise attended Bowdoinham schools and graduated from Coombs High School in 1936. She attended nursing school at Maine Eye and Ear Infirmary, Portland. On Aug. 9, 1938, she married Robley H. Morrison Jr. He died Nov. 12, 1997. Mrs. Morrison was a devoted mo-ther, wife, homemaker and fri-end to many who received her greatest pleasure in life, raising her family and helping others. For 17 years she lived in Houlton. Mrs. Morrison also previously lived in Marquette, Mich., Summit, N.J., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Topsham. She had lived in Auburn since 1997. Mrs. Morrison was an active member of United Methodist Church in several states where she resided. She served as a Girl Scout leader and a Jacobs Daughter leader. She was an avid bridge player. Surviving is a son, Robley H. Morrison, Ph.D., of Presque Isle; a daughter, Jane Morrison Josselyn of Veazie; three sisters, Mary Morgan of South Portland, Hazel Mitchell of Woolwich and Erla Kelley of Southport; four grandchildren; and two very special great-grandchildren, Sylvia Morin and Serephina Cranson. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by a daughter, Mary Leola Morrison; and sisters, Miriam Rideout and Esther Pierpont. A graveside memorial ser-vice will take place July 26 at Bay View Cemetery, Bowdoinham. Memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Church of Auburn, 439 Park Ave., Auburn, ME 04210.
