HAMPDEN and NEW SWEDEN – Elizabeth Ann McDougall Johnson, 66, passed away Nov. 4, 2003, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born July 19, 1937, in Perham, the daughter of Glenwood and Emma (Bondeson) McDougall. Elizabeth grew up in Perham and was a graduate of Caribou High School. She had lived for many years in New Sweden before moving to Hampden. Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. She was predeceased by her father, Glenwood McDougall; a son, Greg Alan Claar in 1986, an infant son, Gareth Johnson Jr., who died in 1965; and by a brother, Bernard McDougall. She is survived by her mother, Emma McDougall of Hampden; a daughter, Belinda Jo “B.J.” Martino and her husband, Anthony, of Hudson, N.H.; brothers and sisters, Douglas McDougall of Gorham, Gordon McDougall of Bangor, Willard McDougall of King George, Va., Elva “Ellie” Hills, of Sullivan, Morris McDougall of Virginia Beach, Va., Stephen McDougall of Corinth and Debbie McDougall of Sandy Point; three grandchildren, Kayleigh Claar of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sarah and Gabrielle of Hudson, N.H.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, with the Rev. Barry Blackstone officiating.
