SANGERVILLE – Elizabeth “Betty” J. Stone, 98, went to be with the Lord, March 13, 2007, at a Dexter health care facility. She was born June 15, 1908, in Boston, a daughter of James and Ethel Snowden, and was raised in Harmony. She spent a few years in Milo before her marriage to Harold Stone, Oct 15, 1930. They made their home in Sangerville and Whitman, Mass., before moving to Guilford. They established Stone’s Dairy, where they pasteurized and delivered milk for several years. After selling the business, she worked and retired from Hardwood Products Co. Betty was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Dover-Foxcroft. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sandra Hughes; her beloved grandchildren, Eileen and husband, James, Scott and wife, Karen, and Brenda and husband, Brian; three special great-grand-children, Adam, Logan, Leah and fiance, Justin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was the last survivor of 11 brothers and sisters; and was predeceased by Harold Stone, March 20, 1972; and her son-in-law, Harry Hughes, April 23, 2004. Her family wants to give a special thanks to the personnel at Dexter Health Care for their wonderful and loving care. A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, with the Rev. Beatrice Violette officiating.
