CHELMSFORD, Mass. – Elizabeth “Bitsy” M. (McQuarrie) Terranova, 64, formerly of Westerly, R.I., died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, after an extended illness. She was born Aug. 6, 1943, in East Millinocket, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Josephine (Surrette) McQuarrie. She was the beloved wife of Robert H. Terranova, to whom she had been married to for 42 years. Elizabeth was a graduate of Massachusetts General School of Nursing, where she received her registered nurse degree. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a registered nurse for Merrimack Valley Cardiology of Chelmsford. She was an avid reader, loved to travel and take photographs of her many journeys, such as hot air ballooning in Africa and parasailing in New Zealand. Bitsy enjoyed lunches and weekend getaways with nursing buddies, and always looked forward to going to dinner and the theatre at both the Merrimack Repertory Theatre and Tanglewood in the summer. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, whom she loved so dearly. IN addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Paul Terranova and his wife, Anne, of Merrimack, N.H., Todd Terranova and his wife, Christine, of Boxborough, Mass., and Mark Terranova and his wife, Janet, of North Reading, Mass. She was the loving grandmother of her “Terrific 10,” Chase, Kathryn, Rachele, Carter, Isabelle, Galen, CJ, Kyle, Jack and Grace; a brother, Thomas McQuarrie and his wife, Katie, of Waterford, Conn.; sisters-in-laws, Elizabeth Parker and her husband, Bruce, of Bethesda, Md., and Louise Musser and her husband, Gerry, of Las Vegas. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford, Mass. A funeral Mass will be offered 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Church, Chelmsford, Mass. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford, Mass.
