HOULTON and EAST HODGDON – Elizabeth Herrick Lincoln, 104, died May 19, 2007, at a local health care facility. She was born Nov. 26, 1902, in Brooksville, the daughter of Luther and Daisy (Gray) Herrick. Betty was a graduate of Brooksville High School, attended Sargent School of Physical Education, Boston, and was a graduate of Castine Normal School. She was the first normal school graduate to teach in the Hodgdon Elementary School System. She was a member of the Aroostook Retired Teachers Association, Maine Retired Teachers Association, Houlton Grange No. 16, where she was lecturer for several years; a member of Aroostook-Penobscot Pomona Grange No. 17 and the State Grange, a member of the Houlton Town & Country Senior Citizen Club, where she served as secretary and treasurer for several years; a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and its advisory council, a member of the Hodgdon B.B. Club and the East Hodgdon Union Church. Betty is survived by two sons, John and his wife, Nancy, of East Hodgdon and Leonard and his wife, Alice, of Houlton; one daughter, Brenda Lincoln of Houlton; stepdaughter, Marcia O’Donnel of South Portland; daughter-in-law, Lois Lincoln Bates of Houlton; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nep-hews. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Blaine Lincoln; son, Emery Lincoln; and grand-son, Craig Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home. Friends may call noon until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at East Hodgdon Cemetery.
