MEDWAY – Elizabeth J. “Betty” Cassidy, 70, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Glassville, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Berrian C. and Harriet J. (McBrine) Swim. Betty was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed reading and cooking for her family. Betty relished time spent with family, especially grandchildren, enjoying nature and all it’s beauty. She was also very proud to be a volunteer at the Tri-Town Food Pantry. She is survived by her very special companion, Ed Smith of Medway; her children, Brian Cassidy of Bangor, Helen and husband, Roger Loney, of Greenville, S.C., Cherri and husband, Joey Deveau, of East Millinocket, David Cassidy of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Patti and husband, Dennis Turcotte, of East Millinocket and Murray Cassidy of Rumford; 11 grandchildren, Tammy-Jo Cassidy, Brian Jr. and wife, Kelly Cassidy, and Tiffany Cassidy, Ted Loney, Kate Loney, Chris and Amy Deveau, Daryn and Stacie Deveau, Cameron Cassidy, Tony Turcotte, Aaron Turcotte and Azure Richards, and Andy Turcotte, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Verda Peabody of East Millinocket, Ernie and Deannie Swim of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Dorie and Duane Sennett of Millinocket, Diane and Sonny Suitter of Houlton, Sheila and Gordon Cook of Miramachi, New Brunswick; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Millinocket. Arrangements are under the care of R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Millinocket and East Millinocket.
