CORNVILLE – Elizabeth M. Bailey, 94, died Dec. 3, 2004, at a Skowhegan nursing home. She was born Nov. 13, 1910, at Cambridge, the first daughter of Andrew and Mabel (Page) Ham. She graduated from NH Fay High School in Dexter, Class of 1929, and married Erald Bailey on June 6, 1929. Elizabeth was a homemaker for many years before being employed at Norrwock Shoe Company in Skowhegan for several years, retiring in 1973. She was a former member of the Cambridge Valley Grange and the Cambridge Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters and two sons, Agnes Grant of Harmony, Beatrice and husband, Richard Reall, of Windham, Conn., Rita Lewis of Harmony, Nancy and husband, Lloyd Conners, of Ripley, Charlotte Gurney of Waterville, Elwin and wife, Kathleen Bailey and Duane Bailey, all of Cornville; two sisters, Louise Bailey of Cambridge and Winnifred Bane of Burnham; 21 special grandchildren, one of whom, Dennis Bailey of Canaan, was brought up by his grandparents; 35 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 1985; an infant daughter, Mary Louise and her brother, Stanwood Ham. There will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at the Cambridge Baptist Church, Cambridge, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cambridge Baptist Church Building Fund, care of Donald Bailey, 17 Bailey Road, Cambridge, ME 04923. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Cedar Ridge Center for Health Care in Skowhegan, which she referred to as her “home away from home” for the past four years. Her greatest enjoyment during that time were the many visits she looked forward to from her family. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
