ASHLAND – Ella B. Coffin, 83, died Oct. 25, 2004, at a Presque Isle nursing home. She was born in Mapleton, June 28, 1921, the daughter of Ephram and Laura (Littlefield) Crawford. Ella was a 50-year member of the Shasta Rebekah Lodge No. 132 of Ashland, a member and past treasurer of the Ashland Grange and a volunteer with RSVP in Aroostook County for 25 years. She was also a charter member of the Ashland Snowmobile Club. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Artemas W. Coffin of Ashland; two sons, Artemas O. Coffin and his wife, Rosemary, of Ashland, David Coffin of Ashland; several nieces and nephews and their children, Alex and Audrey Brown-Christie, Harold and Peggy Brown, Richard Brown, Howard and Myrtle Brown, Keith and Venita Burden, Herman and Kathy Burden, Wendall and Kathy Burden, George and Beth Crawford, Gerald and Laurette Crawford, Robert Crawford, Billy and Vickie Crawford, Laura Lollis and Irma Corns. Ella was predeceased by twin infant daughters and by two infant granddaughters, one brother, William Crawford; four sisters, Eva Crawford, Bessie Frazier, Alta Burden and Mary Brown. Relatives and friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and noon until time of service Thursday at the Union Congregational Church, Sheridan Road, Ashland. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the church with Pastor Patricia Ferguson officiating. Committal service and interment will be in the Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
