SEARSPORT – Ella E. (Howard) Rogers, 85, died March 2, 2004, at a Belfast nursing facility. She was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Belfast, the daughter of Raymond M. and Florence B. (Benson) Howard. Ella was a homemaker of the finest kind who enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed. Ella is survived by her daughters, Anne Rollerson and husband, Darrell, and Sandra McKeen; her son, Raymond Rogers and wife, Raelene Dutton; grandchildren, Roger Brown, Angela McKeen Porter and husband, Harold, Kymberli McKeen Bryant and husband, Ronald, Casey McKeen Gaecklein and husband, Dan; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Madison, Shelby and Emma; sisters, Nellie Howard, Ferne Krienke, Jeanette Clark and husband, Robert, Eudora “Dody” Perkins and husband, Merle; brother, Vaughn Howard and wife, Norma; several nieces and nephews. Ella was predeceased by her husband, Charles Rogers, in 1980; sister, Winifred “Whinnie” Casey; and brother, Linwood “Doc” Howard. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at the Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main St., Searsport, with Rev. Robert Murchie officiating. Spring interment will be in Village Cemetery, Searsport. Donations in Ella’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
