PARKMAN – Peter G. Johnston, 17, went home to be with the Lord, Feb. 29, 2004, in Parkman. He was born Dec. 31, 1986, in Columbia, S.C., the son of John and Cynthia (Hackmann) Johnston. Peter was home schooled and took classes at Piscataquis Community High School in Guilford, where he was also captain of the PCHS Ski Team. He was a member of the Abbot Evangelical Free Church, and was a Sunday school teacher. Over the past couple of years he has taken mission trips to Haiti and to Eritrea. He is survived by his parents of Parkman; five brothers, Michael, Brian, Nathan, Paul, and Timothy; two sisters, Christine Bingler and Amanda; a niece, Hannah Bingler; maternal grandparents, David and Barbara Hackmann of Parkman; paternal grandparents, John and Lucille Johnston of Belle Plaine, Iowa. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at the Abbot Evangelical Free Church, Abbot, with the Rev. Ray Beless officiating.
