MILLINOCKET – Sophie M. Pelletier, 102, died at a Millinocket healthcare facility March 1, 2004. She was born Feb. 24, 1902, in Caribou, the daughter of Joseph and Sophie (Ouellette) Brooks. She was the wife of the late Edmund Pelletier. Mrs. Pelletier was a resident of Lewiston for many years until moving to Millinocket in the mid 60’s. She was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Millinocket, and for the past 12 years has been a resident at Katahdin Nursing Home. She is survived by her daughter, Lola (Brooks) Matteau of Biddeford; four grandchildren; five great-grand-children; and five great-great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Spring burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery.
