MATTAWAMKEAG – Ella L. Scott, 91, wife of the late Henry P. Scott, died April 11, 2005, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born Sept. 28, 1913, in Enfield, the daughter of Hiram G. and Maude (Whittier) Currier. Ella was a long time member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had been a very active member of the Mattawamkeag United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. She and Henry spent many enjoyable years going camping with her brother, Byron and his wife, Leona Currier, and also enjoyed their camp at Cambolasse Pond. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Roger Schick, of Lincoln, and Darlene and Robert Oakes of Wallingford, Conn.; two sisters, Arlene Pride of Old Town and Shirley Wallace of Kingman; granddaughter, Robin Rambone and her husband, Stephen; granddaughter, Lori Carver and her husband, Ron; grandson, Scott Oakes and his wife, Mary, all of Connecticut; grandson, Jeffrey Schick and his wife, Barbara, of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Michael, Ronnie, Ashley, Allison, Jarret, Stephanie, and Megan; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Byron and George Currier; and three sisters, Marjorie Cook, Florence Maynard and Doris Cook. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Mattawamkeag United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Leon Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Mattawamkeag Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Mattawamkeag United Methodist Church.
