ORRINGTON – Ellen M. (Stevens) Shorey, 91, wife of the late Walter A. Shorey, died Oct. 11, 2006, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born May 9, 1915, in Millinocket, the daughter of George and Alice (Olmstead) Stevens. She is survived by one son, Lee Shorey of Nevada; one daughter, Ellen M. Ford of Orrington; a half brother, Charles Priest of Lowell; three half sisters, Marcia Ploski of Pennsylvania, Phyllis Carrier of Portland and Grace Fosset of Sebago; one grandson, Timothy Ford of Orrington; five great-grandchildren, Kathryn Ford of Bangor, Jessica Ford of Hermon, Timothy, Jack and Ryan Ford, all of Orrington; one great-great-grandchild, Broxton Fickett of Bangor. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by an infant son, George Owen Stevens; a brother, Fred Stevens. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Christ Church of Faith in Peacove, 2274 Bennock Road, Old Town, with the Pastor Wayne Hartt and the Rev. Thearsa Oliver officiating. Interment will be at Howland Cemetery, Howland.
