However, Jeanette continued to be a resource for the library, both as a patron and advisor. An avid reader and lover of animals, Jeanette had many friends in the community. She was a devout member of her church, first at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Bangor, later at St. Saviour’s Episcopal Parish, Bar Harbor, and finally at the Church of Our Father, Hulls Cove for more than 30 years. She not only supported the churches to which she belonged, but was also a member of several community organizations. She is survived by her devoted husband, the Honorable Bernard C. Staples of Bar Harbor; and her loving daughter, Heather A. Staples of Portland. She is also survived by her much loved pets, Smokie, Hobbes and Katie. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Jordan-Fernald, Bar Harbor Chapel, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church, 41 Mount Desert St., Bar Harbor. Interment will be held after the services Oct. 21, at Hillside Cemetery, Hulls Cove. After the committal, a reception will be held at the Church of Our Father, Hulls Cove.
