CHERRYFIELD – Elmer F. Dow, 78, died Monday, June 6, 2005, at his home in Cherryfield. He was born March 18, 1927, in Milbridge, the son of Charles and Olive (Merchant) Dow. Elmer was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Flora (Schoppee) Dow of Cherryfield; a son, David Dow of Hermon and his children, Derek, Damon, and Darci Dow, all of Cherryfield; three daughters, Mona West and her husband, Bradley, of Cherryfield; and their daughters, Stacy Young and family of Harrington; and Marcy Beardsley and family of Harrington; Karen Worcester and her husband, Morrill, of Columbia Falls and their children, Pamela Slaven and son of Machias, Rob Worcester and his wife, Sarah, of Steuben, Michael Worcester and his wife, Renee of Columbia Falls and Corey, Lydie, and Molly Worcester of Columbia Falls; and Wendy Shank and her husband, Brian, of Flushing, Mich., and her children, Daniel Rodgers and family of Corea, and Tema Lucero and family of Flushing, Mich.; a special daughter-in-law, Carrie Bagley Dow of Cherryfield; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lawrence and Douglas Dow of Milbridge and Charles Dow of Knox; a sister, Phyllis Pollack of Quincy, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Earl Dow. At Elmer’s request there will be no services. Gifts in memory of Elmer may be sent to the Mary Dow Cancer Center, 50 Union St., Suite 3600, Ellsworth, ME 04605. Cremation arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
