DEXTER – Elmer J. Easler, 93, died Feb. 19, 2007, at his home. He was born April 24, 1913, in Washburn, son of Freeman and Emma (Flewelling) Easler. He was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Dexter, where he served as the head deacon, and maintained the facility, until he was no longer able to do so. For many years he owned and operated a dairy farm in Dexter. He also worked as a truck driver for Charles Starbird and was a school bus driver. His love of family showed whenever his family would gather, and he was able to attend the 56th Easler reunion last August, where he was the oldest in attendance. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Priscilla (Cheney) Easler of Dexter; two sons and their wives, Dale and Jeanette Easler of Dexter and Wendall and Sarah Easler of Florida; three daughters and their husbands, Elaine and James McDaniel of Florida, Betty and Gayland Bennett of Dexter and Valerie and Robert MacDonald of Wiscasset; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchild-ren. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Doris (Easler) Lambert; and a daughter, Shirley Easler. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, with Pastor Arnold Schnell officiating. Spring burial will be at South Sangerville Cemetery.
