FORT KENT AND SOUTHINGTON, Conn. – Elmer “Mer” Theriault, 63, died Oct. 31, 2004, at his residence in Soldier Pond. He was born April 5, 1941, in New Canada, the son of Josephel and Mary Jane (Rossignol) Theriault. Mer will be remembered as an avid fisherman and hunter, whom had a passion for gardening and farming. He also loved taking his grandchildren fishing. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in the fourth degree council No. 15 of Southington, Conn. and also belonged to the Knights of Columbus in the third degree in Sebastian, Fla. He worked at Pratt & Whitney as a mechanic for 38 years until his retirement in 1998, at the age of 58. Mer is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dora (Albert) Theriault, of Soldier Pond; three sons, Steven Theriault and his wife, Lynn, of Southington, Conn., Brian Theriault of Plainville, Conn., Ricky Theriault and his wife, Cindy, of Plantsville, Conn.; one daughter, Michele Jasunas and her husband, Michael, of Southington, Conn.; nine grandchildren, Nathan, Magan, Derek, Adam, Haley, Alison, Julia, Christopher, Jacob; many nieces and nephews; one brother, Roger Theriault of New Canada; five sisters, Rena Bouchard of Fort Kent, Gilmay Daigle of New Canada, Theresa Nadeau of Southington, Conn., Priscilla Bouchard of Canton, Conn., and Cecilia Bouchard of Southington, Conn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, John Peter Theriault in 1965; two sisters, Carlene Domonique, Jeannette Bouchard; one brother, Donald Theriault; one special sister-in-law, Bernice Saucier. Friends may call 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home in Fort Kent. Additional viewing hours will be held 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, and 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 5, at the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington, Conn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 5, at the St. Domonic Catholic Church in Southington, Conn. Committal services will follow at the St. Thomas cemetery.
