ELOISE L. OAKES ST. PETER OLD TOWN – Eloise L. St. Peter, 90, died April 17, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 21, 1913, in Islip Long Island, N.Y., a daughter of Ross and Mary Anna (Yellen) L’Hommedieu. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Daughters of Isabella, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Old Town, Orono, and Bangor Senior Citizens, treasurer for the Orono Seniors and Bangor Singles Club. She enjoyed volunteering and volunteered for RSVP and Meals for Me. She was an avid Bingo player and loved dancing. She retired from Diamond International and was employed for several years by Avalon Mobile Home Park in Clearwater, Fla. She lived life to the fullest and had many Bingo pals, many dear friends at Hasbro Court, and two special people in her life, Jenn and Kayla. She is survived by two daughters, Helen Buzzell and her husband, Lloyd; Faye Boyle and her husband, Michael, all of Old Town; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Nelson Oakes; and her second husband, Lionel “Babe” St. Peter; and a sister, Dorothy Miller. A memorial mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Parish, with the Rev. Normand Richard, celebrant. Burial will be at Lawndale Cemetery. Immediately following the service all are invited to return to the Holy Family Parish Center for continued fellowship and a light luncheon.
