BANGOR – Elsie A. Gray, 83, died peacefully April 17, 2007, with her family at her side at her residence. She was born July 8, 1923, in Bangor, the daughter of Robert W. and Rose E. (Gorman) Hughes. Elsie was a wonderfully supportive, caring, and loving person with a deep faith. She was well known as a witty person with a great sense of humor. She was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend, and will be dearly missed. She is survived by a son, John W. Gray and wife, Sandra, of Bangor; two sisters, Joanne Delano of Bangor, and Yvonne Clewley of Gilminton, N.H.; two granddaughters, Kristen Iarrobino and husband, Michael, of Bangor, and Tanya Lavoie and husband, Tony, of Columbus, Ohio; two great-granddaughters, Lilly and Caroline Iarrobino; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank W. Gray. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hammond Street, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick, pastor of Bangor Baptist Church, officiating. Gifts in her memory may be made to Community Health and Counseling Services, Hospice Program, P.O.
