EASTON – Elva L. Patterson, 86, wife of the late Wendell F. Patterson Sr., died Oct. 7, 2007, at a Mars Hill health care facility. She was born Dec. 16, 1920, in Easton, the daughter of Clyde and Verna (Brown) Benson. Elva enjoyed caring for and spending time with family and friends. She spent many happy hours crocheting, attending horse pulling contests, cooking and was especially known for her molasses cookies. She is survived by two sons, Wayne W. Patterson and his wife, Susan, of Easton and Wendell F. Patterson Jr. of Deep River, Conn.; a daughter, Dale Blanchard and her husband, Bob, of Easton; a sister, Charlene Ward of Blaine; grandchildren, Robert Blanchard, Lynn Flewelling, Dawn Wells, Wayne Patterson, Tamara Stockley, Korrin Patterson, Carol Hull, Wanda Bursing, Alan Patterson, Ryan Patterson and Alfred Barrie; great-grandchildren, Brian, Colley, Joseph, Chelsea, Jacob, Kyle, Kristen, Tiffany, Brittany, Courtney, Sarah, Jason, Jessica, Todd, Shawn, Mark and Dalton; a great-great- grandchild, Addison; several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing her in addition to her parents and husband was a grandchild, Brian Blanchard; brothers and sisters, Arnold Benson Jr., Herschel Benson, Eloise Townsend and Louis Benson. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill, with the Rev. Dan Blevens officiating.
