STOCKHOLM – Elwood Anderson, 84, a lifetime Stockholm resident, died Nov. 1, 2003, at a Caribou hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 17, 1919, at Stockholm, the son of John and Alma (Peterson) Anderson. Elwood was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Perkins-Plourde Post American Legion Post No. 136, Stockholm, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Stockholm. He was employed as a construction superintendent for many years and continued as a builder and adviser to many in the Stockholm community. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all those he helped, guided and inspired. He is survived by a son, Peter Anderson and his wife, Diane, of Glenburn; two daughters, Pat Quist and her husband, Howard, of Stockholm, Nancy Temprano and her husband, Tom, of Ventura, Calif.; three brothers, Frederick Anderson, Fernald Anderson, and Francis Anderson, all of Stockholm; one sister, Vivian Anderson of Stockholm; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Queenie Peterson of Stockholm. He was predeceased by his wife, Edna (Merritt) Anderson; a son, Stephen John Anderson; two brothers, Clarence Anderson and Warren Anderson; one sister, Astrid Sandstrom. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Stockholm with the Rev. James Morgan, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Stockholm Cemetery, Stockholm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elwood’s memory may be made to the Stockholm Cemetery Association. Envelopes will be available at the church or from the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou.
