ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Emelie G. London, 73, died April 25, 2006. She was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Island Falls, to Lester and Leversa (Birdie) Grendell. She grew up in Island Falls and Houlton, later moved to Veazie and eventually retired in Zephyrhills, Fla. She cherished her family and the time she spent with them and especially enjoyed traveling with them on vacation to Hawaii and California. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bird watching, walking, gardening and crocheting. Family includes her husband of 56 years, Jack London of Zephyrhills, Fla.; her children, Bonnie Bishop and her husband, Maxwell, of Jacksonville, Fla., Martin London and his wife, Gail, of Hampstead, N.H.; a sister, Velma Paradis and her husband, Kenneth, of Houlton; a grandson, Tyler London of Hampstead, N.H.; three stepgrandsons, Graham, Jared and Brent Bacheller of Hampstead, N.H.; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Emelie was predeceased by her half-siblings, Edwin, Elsie and Miles Grendell. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chancey Road Christian Church, P.O. Box 1848, Zephyrhills, FL 33539.
