RICHMOND – Emile James “Jim” Hussiere, 64, of Brunswick Road, and formerly of Poland Springs, died April 6, 2004, in Biloxi, Miss. Jim was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Philipsburg, Pa. He was educated in Philipsburg, Pa., the University of Maine at Augusta, the University of Maine at Farmington and received his masters degree from the University of Maine at Portland-Gorham. Jim served in the Navy for 11 1/2 years, receiving the Bronze Star. He also served in the Maine Army National Guard 14 years. Jim was a member of the Poland Community Church. He was employed by the State of Maine Department of Corrections. He was previously employed by the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School, Central Maine Technical College and St. Mary’s Hospital. In the 1960s, Jim was a professional musician. Surviving is his wife of 35 years, June E. (Lessner) Hussiere of Richmond; two sons, James A. Hussiere of New Gloucester and Sheldon T. Hussiere of Richmond. Visiting hours are 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 9, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday.
