GREENVILLE – Emile M. Tanguay, 89, husband of Gemma (McCollough) Tanguay, died Oct. 11, 2003, at Charles A. Dean Nursing Home in Greenville. He was born July 7, 1914, in Chesham, Quebec, Canada, the son of Edmond and Aurore (Plante) Tanguay. He was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church in Greenville, and a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He was retired from the Canadian Pacific Railroad after 30 years of service. He was a fervent outdoorsman and his special loves were fishing and hunting. Besides his loving wife of 63 years, he is survived by one son, David Tanguay of Pascagoula, Miss.; one grandson, David Tanguay Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Roxanne, Ashley and Bradley Tanguay of Tampa, Fla.; a special step-granddaughter, Robin Reeder of Charleston S.C.; two sisters, Rita Lampinen and Cecilia Giroux of Greenville; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Leon, Joseph, Lucien and Robert; and one sister, Alvina Graham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Greenville. Burial will follow at the Greenville Cemetery. A lunch will be served in the church hall after the burial with everyone invited. In Lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Charles A. Dean Nursing Home in Greenville.
