PENOBSCOT – Emily Fostina Turner, 48, lost her ongoing battle with cancer May 10, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born Jan. 18, 1959, in Castine, to the late Roland and Eula (Hutch-inson) Gray of Brooksville. Emily lived in Penobscot for most of her 30-year marriage, to Lloyd C. Turner Jr. She loved to work and had many jobs in the service industry because she liked to interact with people. The most important thing in her life was her children, followed closely by her family members. Emily is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Penobscot; their three children, Vivian, Lloyd III and Katie-Lynn, who all live locally; two stepdaughters, Marie and Annette, both of Orland; eight stepgrand-children, Lorraine and Windi, Zachary and Jacob, all of Orland, Ashley and Jacob of Bucksport, Faith and Jared of Gouldsboro; nine brothers and sisters and their families, Kevin, Roland Jr., Janette, Betty, Arlene, Anna, Nancy, Cindy and Muriel and many, many friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Juanita and Frances; and two brothers, Edward and Raymond. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Hillside Cemetery, North Penob-scot, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to her favorite bingo hall, the Franklin Veterans’ Club, P.O. Box 66, Franklin, ME 04634.
