FORT KENT and ST. JOHN Emily Jandreau, 74, passed away peacefully Feb. 10, 2006, after a long illness. Emily was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Jandreau. She was born March 2, 1931, in St. John, the daughter of the late Antoine and Annie (Keaton) Berube. She will be remembered as a very hard worker. She would pick over 100 barrels of potatoes a day. Family always came first to Emily and no one ever left her table hungry. Her table was where she enjoyed countless hours playing cards, making puzzles and mapping her family history through her genealogy. She is survived by her son, Vern Jandreau of St. John; three daughters, Rena Thibodeau and her friend, Carey Daigle, of Fort Kent, Louella and her husband, Richard Wiken, of Hampden, Peggy and her husband, Mark Hasson, of West Enfield; six grandchildren, Carrie Bouchard, Amy Hafer, Alex and Lindsey Wiken, Patrick and Matthew Hasson; three great-grandchildren, Mackayla, Alex and Toby Bouchard; two sisters, Beatrice Jandreau of Millinocket, and Elise Ouellette of Meridan, Conn.; one brother, Joseph Albert Berube of Presque Isle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to both her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Gene, in 2003; one great-grandson, Matthew Bouchard; four bro-thers, Conrad, Vinnie, Antoine Jr. and Romeo Willard; five sisters, Gertrude Hammond, Mary Jane Berube, Emma Morin, Mina and Mattie Berube. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday, until time of departure for St. John, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the St. John Catholic Church, St. John, with the Rev. James Nadeau, officiating. Spring burial will be May 12, in the parish cemetery.
