FORT KENT – Emily “Memery” (Dubois) Martin Michaud, 87, died Oct. 25, 2004, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 17, 1917, in Frenchville, the daughter of Steven and Emilia (Thibodeau) Dubois. Emily was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and a volunteer at the Good Shepherd Thrift Shop in Fort Kent for many years. She was and avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards and played a good game of golf until the age of 85. Emily’s life was centered around her family which she loved very much. Her life was dedicated to providing a good home environment for her beloved family. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Emily was predeceased by her first husband, Jean Marc Martin; her two sons, Nelson and Rudy, who all died on July 19, 1967. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Sylvio Michaud in January of 1992; her parents, and five sisters. She is survived by one son, Roland Martin and his wife, Betty, of Frenchville; two daughters, Bernadette Michaud and her husband, Marc, of Fort Kent; Viola Kemp and her husband, Hobie, of Palmyra; two sisters, Nathalie Doucette of Connecticut, Winnie Desjardins and her husband, Louis, of Fort Kent; one brother, Gilman Dubois and his wife, Mildred, of Connecticut; 14 grandchildren, Kathy Corey, Jan Stanley, Paula Martin, Rebecca Adams, Pamela Cordes, Dennis Martin, Jeffery Martin, Debra Pogie, Michael Martin, Melissa Majka, Dawn Desjardins, Jean Michaud, Stephanie McDonald and Lori Perley. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home in Fort Kent, and from 9 a.m. until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent with the Rev. Philip Cyr officiating. Committal services will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery in Daigle.
