PITTSFIELD – Emma A. Frederick, 73, a longtime resident of Somerset Avenue, died unexpectedly, Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at her home. Emma was born May 5, 1934, in Waterville, the daughter of Shans and Annie (Cianchette) Frederick. She graduated from Maine Central Institute, Pittsfield, with the Class of 1952. Emma gave of herself to others. She worked in the cafeteria in the school hot lunch program at Vickery Elementary for many years. She also took an active role in the special care of many of her family members during times of illness for most of her life. She was a communicant of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Pittsfield, for many years. She enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for others. She is survived by her nephews, Anthony Frederick and his wife, Marilyn, of Bedford, N.H., Terry Frederick and his wife, Pamela, of Hollywood, Fla., Thomas Frederick and his wife, Mary, of Dover-Foxcroft; a niece, Judith Hanson and her husband, Gary, of Rowley, Mass., and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Anthony Frederick and Forrest Frederick; and two sisters, Yolanda Sanborn and Evelyn Fuller. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Detroit Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. James Robichaud officiating. Interment will be held immediately after at Village Cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Parish, P.O. Box 346, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. Arrangements are entrusted to Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.
