OLD TOWN – Emma Cecelia Hilchey, 89, died July 12, 2008, at an Orono health care facility. She was born Feb. 28, 1919, in Old Town, the daughter of Stanley M. and Nettie M. (Landry) Hilchey. Emma graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1938 and from Beal Business College. She worked at American Woolen Mill in the late 1930s and 1940s, and retired from Diamond International in 1984. Emma was a lifelong communicant and member of Holy Family Parish, Old Town. She is survived by two sisters, Eloise Hilchey of Old Town and Joan Johnston of Newberry, Mass., and Florida; 13 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother and six sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 429 Main St., Old Town, with the Rev. Thomas Farley presiding. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town. Those who wish to remember Emma in a special way may make gifts to Holy Family Parish, 429 Main St., Old Town, ME 04468.
