MILLINOCKET – Ensley “Buckeye” Eugene Jarvis Sr., 75, died unexpe-ctedly Aug. 31, 2005, in Millin-ocket. He was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Oakfield, the son of Donald and Lena Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis lived in the Katahdin region for many years, where he worked for 40 years and 11 months at Great Northern Paper Company, Eastmill Operation. He had resided in Millinocket these last three years, with his grandson, Geoff. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, honorably serving his country from 1950-1955. He was a member of Bernard L. Coro DAV Post No. 22, Medway. Buckeye enjoyed his work and his friends. He truly enjoyed camping at Nesowadnehunk Lake, fishing, hunting and just riding through the woods. He is survived by one son, Timothy Jarvis of Portland; three daughters, Theresa Harriman of Lincoln, Medina Houston of LaGrange, and Angela Jarvis of Presque Isle; five grandchildren, including a special grandson, Geoffrey McDunnah, of Millinocket; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Winifred, Hazel, Barbara, Charlotte, Betty, Kenneth, Donald and Ronald; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a special longtime companion, Patricia Fogg; and a brother, Leland. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket.
