ALTON – Eric Gerald Leigh Niles, 19, left us unexpectedly April 21, 2008. He was born Jan. 18, 1989, in Bangor, the son of Eugene and Crystal (Young) Niles. Eric had a great love for the outdoors, especially fishing, four-wheeling and playing basketball with his brother. He enjoyed camping, sports, video games and family times. Eric loved working with his Grandpa Young doing carpentry work. He is survived by his mother of Alton; his father of Bradford; his brother, Travis of Alton; paternal grandparents, Pastor Gerald and Linda Niles of Haines City, Fla.; his maternal grandparents, Walter and Iona Young of Alton; great-grandmother, Ramona Niles of Bradford; great-grandfather, John W. Pauline of Baltimore, Md.; great-grandparents, Warren and Lillian Strout of Bradford; immediate aunts and uncles, Chris and Carrie Arsenault, Bryan and Angie Young, Matthew and Laura Hornberger, and Aaron Davis; also his special great-aunt and great-uncle, Bonnie and Allen Chase. Eric was the oldest grandchild and enjoyed spending time with his younger cousins, Em-ilee, Madelyn, Nate, Lily, Kylie, Stephen, Michael and Christian. He was predeceased by his aunt, Stacey. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be private for the family. Interment will be at West Old Town Cemetery.
