BUCKSPORT – Erin Christine Lemire, 22, passed away unexpectedly July 1, 2004, at her Bucksport home. She was born in Bangor, April 17, 1982, the beloved daughter of Tony and Cathy Lemire. Erin’s passing leaves this world a much sadder place. Erin attended Bucksport schools and was a 2001 graduate of Bucksport High School, where she received a very nurturing education. Being elected to National Honor Society and accepted at the University of Southern Maine attested to how hard Erin worked and how much support she had, especially from Judy and Dana Newman and Joel Sankey. Erin had just completed her third year at USM and was thrilled to have made the dean’s list. She was working toward a B.A. in communications with a minor in educational studies. Erin was very active in many school activities including softball and volleyball, but her real love was the six years she played ice hockey on the P.V.H.C. women’s team. She was a natural and was very proud of the team’s three state championships. She also loved riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle and had recently enjoyed a bike trip to New York with her Dad and uncles, Norm and Bobby. She was thrilled to have spent her most recent spring break visiting London and Paris with her twin, Amy; and dear roommates, Jessica and Elese; and friend, Krissy. Erin had just started her sixth year as a summer swim instructor and lifeguard at the Bucksport Town Pool. Working with children was very rewarding to Erin and she became close friends with many of them. In addition to her parents, she will be missed forever by her sister, Anne Paquette and husband, Aron and twin sister, Amy Lemire, who was always there for her. Her extended family includes her grandmother, Gladys Lemire; and uncles, Normand, Robert, Barry and Gordan; and aunts, Gloria and Donna and their families; also grandfather, Oliva Jacques, Maggie and Greg Polk and cousins, Marisa, Tom and Lynn Jacques; and cousins, Scott and Robert, Dottie and Frank George; and cousins, Justin and Joshua, Chris and Sue Jacques; and cousins, Noah and Molly. Erin will be remembered by many childhood and life long friends, especially, Melissa, Kelly, Cara, Heather, Danielle, Jana, Trevor, Travis, Pete and T.J.; in addition to many new friends at USM. She is in heaven with her beloved grandmother, Helen Jacques; grandfather, Emile; and uncles, Billy and David Lemire; uncles, Richard and Robert Jacques; and “little brother,” Ian Powell. Family and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, with Fr. Richard Lembo celebrant. Interment will be in St. Vincent dePaul Cemetery, Bucksport. Donations in her memory may be made to a scholarship fund for a Bucksport High School student who will be attending the University of Southern Maine, care of Seaboard Federal Credit Union, P.O.
