JENSEN BEACH, Fla., and LINCOLN – Erma B. Barton, 83, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Life Care Center, in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Born in Linneus, she had been a resident of Jensen Beach, Fla., since 1972, coming from Lincoln. Prior to retirement, Erma worked in the health care industry, as a registered nurse for many years. She graduated from Ricker Classical Institute, Houlton, in 1941, and also from New England Baptist Hospital, Boston, as a registered nurse. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Jensen Beach, Fla. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Robert S. Barton of Jensen Beach, Fla.; son, Bruce B. Barton and his wife, Elaine, of Gloucester, Va.; two brothers, Hartley Bither of Boca Raton, Fla., and Wendell Bither of Bolton Center, Conn.; one sister, Mildred McIntosh of Houlton; five grandchildren, Alicia Barton and Andrew Barton, both of Lincoln, Jamie Barton, Jayson Barton, and Josh Barton, all of Gloucester, Va.; and three great-grandchildren. At Erma’s request there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997. Remember Erma with her smile.
